Mouse was next to be euthanized at an overcrowded kill shelter in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. He was living on the streets as a stray when he was found and taken to the shelter and the volunteers found a microchip with his original owner's phone number out of Massachusetts. When they attempted to contact the number, the line was disconnected so needless to say, he was most likely lost or abandoned and no one came looking for him. The reason the shelter named him Mouse is because he is a very quiet & sweet boy and when he meets new people he will crawl really low towards them and wag his tail because he wants to be pet. He is friendly, but I think he was probably abused at one point or another. When I first saw him I instantly fell in love. My mom and I had been looking around for a dog to rescue, but we never made the jump and I just knew I couldn't let him go. I could not let this dog get put down without him getting a second chance at life. I took a leap and signed the adoption contract and now I just need to figure out a way to get him transported to me. We have his medical certificate, all his records and photos (attached to this request) and I will be forever grateful and indebted to whoever will help me get my sweet boy to New England! Sincerely, Sophie Bartlett P.S. I'm not keeping the name Mouse, he deserves a good strong name!!!
