Arizona lost a leg to a gunshot, but he's now on his way to a better life
Arizona was part of Pilots to the Rescue's April 10th epic cat rescue flight. He had been brought to a shelter in a poor, rural area in South Carolina as a stray. He had a bloody nose and was limping on his right front leg. X-rays revealed a leg bone that was completed shattered, most likely from a gunshot wound.
Unfortunately, the damage was so significant that the leg could not be saved and the veterinarian recommended amputation.
Arizona's surgery went well and he's recovering nicely. At times he is still a bit grumpy but who could blame him? He must have been through a lot before he was rescued.
It took a village, but Arizona is now in the loving hands of Cat Tales in Seabrook, New Hampshire, and soon will be on his way to his forever home.
